SCP

Secure. Contain. Protect
SCP stands for Secure. Contain. Protect. It is an online community for creators to come together for mass world-building via creature and lore creation within itself.

But, what does this have to do with me? Well, I am a part of that community and you can be too. You don't even have to create anything. You can just enjoy the countless creatures, objects, characters, and lore that is created. There's a little bit of Science Fiction, Fantasy, History, and all sorts of other genres.

When I say the community is open to everyone, I mean that. Everything that is SCP is brought together under a Creative Commons license agreement Creative Commons License 3.0 (CC BY-SA 3.0) . What does that mean? It means that you are free to use anything under the SCP name freely and, if new content is created using it, it must also be freely shared under the license. This includes any writing, art, articles, video games, etc. Attributions to the original content creators (via the SCP files and any subsequent media used) is necessary.

That being said, writing I do set within the SCP universe is also subject to that license. You're free to reference it in your own writing and art. This means that so long as you give attribution to the creators you reference (including the wiki files and website), you're free to use it. As an example, when I wrote my first SCP novel, Behold, I had to have a reference for all the SCP characters, the staff pages, and the videos referenced in my story. You will have to do that same in your content as well as, if using my presentation of the lore or characters I've created, I too will need to be given attribution. It's very important that we all respect the Creative Commons license agreement: Creative Commons License 3.0 (CC BY-SA 3.0)
